#GoGators💚🖤🐊
Dear parents, students, and school community:
Thank you for your work last week. We began our state assessments last week with ELA on Tuesday and Thursday. The energy in the building was strong all week, and we took the time on Friday to celebrate students who made gains in MAP with an opportunity to visit several of our food truck partners. Mr. Modla and I even took several water balloons from students in the fun! I appreciate the teachers and staff members who value the importance of celebrating students. There were many adults who joined our students, thus strengthening the trusted relationships necessary to maximize our potential as a school. For that, I am proud and grateful!
We will take SC Ready Math on Tuesday, and our 6th graders will take Science on Thursday of this week. Make sure to check the calendar for other activities and important happenings.
Everyday is important so be sure to make each day count! Stay safe and well and let's have a great week at The Creek! GOOOOOOOOOOO GATORS!
Yours in service,
Principal Clayton B. Moton
Let's take a moment to recognize and celebrate our Gator Nation students, staff, and community members!
The students and staff of DCMS had a great time on Friday with a variety of food truck options and even a chance to pelt Mr. Moton and Mr. Modla with water balloons as a way to say "Great job!" during Spring MAP!
Math magic in Mrs. Williams-Wilson class!
Episode 13: Meet Mr. Johnson!
The GNP and co-host Ethan chat with newly elected DCMS Teacher of the Year, Paul Johnson!

Whether it is volunteering to help with after school clubs and competition or cheering wildly in the stands as fans, the faculty and staff understand the importance of supporting our students in and outside of the classroom! We are unapologetically PROUD to be Dutchman Creek Gators! Gooooooo Gators!!!
Parental Reminders for State Testing
Make sure your child gets a good night of sleep before each testing day. *Strive to make mornings as relaxed as possible before arrival.
Have your child on time for school each day of testing. If your child is late for school on a testing day and the test has already started, they will not be able to test that day.
Please avoid making doctor appointments, dentist appointments, etc. during testing days.
Encourage attendance for ALL testing days, to avoid as little make-ups as possible. *Express confidence in your child and encourage them to do their best on these tests!
Please note that during testing sessions, there are very strict rules about students possessing any type of electronic device(s).
The following is an excerpt written about this in state testing policy information: “…students may not be in possession of any electronic device that can be used for communicating, recording, timing, creating images, or storing images. These devices include, but are not limited to, cell phones, media players, electronic readers, smart watches…” Any electronic device brought by a student will be collected before testing and given back after testing is finished.
To adhere to state testing maintenance and security, we will observe the same protocols as years past by keeping all student devices at school during testing season. Beginning Monday, May 6, all student devices will remain at school. State testing begins on Tuesday, May 7.
The 8th Grade Awards Celebration time has been changed to 10:00 a.m. to ensure 8th grade parents are able to attend the 5th grade graduation at our feeder elementary schools.
The Formal Committee is accepting donations for small bottled waters or candy for the formal. If you would like to help, please send in any donations by May 30th.
Want to know how you can help? Please email Ms. Blake (ckblake@rhmail.org), Mrs. Williams-Wilson (kwilliamswilson@rhmail.org) and Ms. Janicke (tjanicke@rhmail.org).
Students had an awesome time meeting Ms. Sa'Rah Jones, Television Writer and Producer. The level of engagement was positive and each question was intentional. Thank you Ms. K-W, and ELA teachers for allowing students to attend.
Need some advice or have a question in general? We are here to help!
