Using Evidence Based Practices to teach Reading to Students with significant Challenges

We will look at the evidence based practices of reinforcement, prompting and discrete trial teaching and how they can be used to implement ELAR lessons from ULS and other programs for level one learners. Participants will view video demonstrations and participate in practice with peers to perfect their skills in the strategies.

Some outcomes to expect:

1. Participants will gain an understanding of evidence based practices of reinforcement, prompting and discrete trial training
2. Participants will gain knowledge in practices for teaching reading to students with autism and significant learning challenges.
