Spooky

Story-Time

This year we opened our Spooky Story-Time up to 7th-12th graders to read to Pre-K - 4th grade classes .  Everyone that participated had a blast and helped set the Halloween mood!

Open House

At the beginning of this school year we began a major fiction weeding project.  We removed several boxes of fiction books from our collection that either:

1 - Had not circulated within 10 years

2 - Had unnecessary duplicate copies

3 - Were in disrepair

Some of these books were replaced with newer copies while the rest ended up in our Book Giveaway at Open House this year.  We were so glad to see the books find a new home in the hopes that someone will read them and keep them for a long time.

By doing this be opened up the fiction section in the library and it looks more inviting than ever!

Hispanic Culture Project

The 8th graders began their Hispanic Culture Project with Mrs. Jenner in the library at the end of this month.  They were all tasked with finding information to support their chosen topic in order to create a presentation to share with the class and possibly the school.  They used a variety of resources to do this but started the research process using a collection of resources that was curated by Mrs. Jenner using the Destiny Follett Collection feature of the library catalog.  These students spent three days in the library and will continue to work on their projects here and there in class throughout November.  It is our hope that their final projects will be presented and displayed in the library when they are complete.

Sora, by Overdrive

The 7th and 8th graders were all introduced to Sora so they can begin reading eBooks and audiobooks.  This is a resource provided to us through Questar III SLS and truly expands the library collection!  See Mrs. Jenner in the library for more information.
