This tutorial will teach you how to create challenge or question cards and how to cut them accurately using the laser cutter...

Step 1: Make your own copy of the card template for either of the following programs:
For the Adobe Express version you will need to sign into your Google account and then press the 'Remix' button to edit the file.
Important: Do not change the position of the cards, please.

Step 2: Design your question cards, or challenge cards (using either template).
Note: this version has advantages and disadvantages of globalization.

Step 3: Download your completed design as a PDF.
For both Google slides and Adobe Express go to:
File > Download > PDF
Step 3.1: From your downloads folder, open the PDF and select the print icon.
Select 'landscape'
Ensure scale is 100%
Select 'printer options'
Important: You must double check that the scaling is set to 100%
Step 3.2: From the printer options menu:
Select 'Paper/Quality'
Select 'Cardstock'
Select 'OK'
Select 'Print' to send the job

Step 4: On the right-side of the printer locate the document feed tray (tray 1).
Load your card into this tray.
Print as normal

Step 5: Cut out your cards using the laser cutter.
Download and open the X Tool 'Cut Cards' file.
Note: you will need to download the X Tool software if you have not done so already.

Step 6: Load your card into the laser cutter:
Line up the bottom edge of the card with the ruler guide.
Clamp the card down to the honeycomb bed.
Line up the red crosshair with the top-left corner of the first card.

Step 7: Relocate the cut file:
Once you have set the crosshair it will be necessary to relocate the file (cut lines) as shown.
Select all of the red lines and move these so the crosshair is precisely in the top-left corner.

Step 7: Cut the cards:
Start the laser cutter and watch the cards get cut out.
Note: the cut lines are slightly smaller to allow for small errors in positioning.
