Step 1: We need to install the VEXcode IQ software.
Navigate to the Red Door Launcher and find the VEXcode software.

Step 2: Now we need to open the VEXcode software.
Locate the VEXcode icon in your applications, or press 'Command' + 'Spacebar' and search for VEXcode IQ.

Step 3: As an alternative to installing the VEXcode software, you may decide to use the online version.
Note: A disadvantage is that the online version will not remember your settings.

Step 1: At the centre of the top of the screen, click on the text 'VEXcode Project' and rename this to 'Triangle'.
Save the project.

Step 2: Before we proceed with the software, please note the specific ports to which the left and right motors are connected on the IQ brain (this is usually ports 8 and 11).

Step 3:
In the top-right corner of the screen, select the connection icon.
Choose "2nd Gen."
Select "Add a device."
Choose the "Drivetrain 2-motor" option.
Select the two ports you noted earlier (usually ports 8 and 11).
Uncheck the Gyro option, as it will not be used.
Press "Done" to complete the process.

Step 4: Turn on 'Brain Inertial'

Step 5: To add code, drag the code blocks from the left-hand side into the main window.
Note how the blocks connect together.
Add the 'drive forward' block.
Add the 'turn right' block.
Alter the 'drive forward' distance to 100mm.
Alter the 'turn right' distance to 120 degrees.

Step 6: To save time, you can copy and paste existing blocks.
Copy the drive block so that it appears three times.
Copy the turn block so that it appears three times.

Step 7: Turn on your robot (IQ Brain) by pressing the tick (✓) symbol.

Step 8: Connect the VEX IQ brain to your MacBook using the USB cable provided.

Step 9: Once connected, the brain symbol in the software should change to green.

Step 10: Select the 'Download' icon to upload your code to the robot.

Step 11: Unplug your robot and check the screen for the name of your program.

Step 11: Once you have mastered the basics, challenge yourself to make something beautiful!
