Step 1: Before you can create a planning drawing you must ensure that you have created a model and saved the model.

Step 2: Go to the top-left corner of the screen and select the drop-down menu.

Select Drawing > From Design

This will open a new 'Create Drawing' window.

Step 3: Go to the 'Create Drawing' window.

Select the 'Sheet Size' drop-down window > Select A4 (297mm x 210mm) > Select 'OK'. 

This will open a new drawing environment.

Step 4: Move the cursor somewhere on the page to view your vehicle.

1. Change the scale to 1:3 to make the drawing bigger

2. Change the orientation (view) so that you can see the front of the car.

3. Navigate to the bottom-left of the page and left-click to place the car here.

Please note that the precise location on the page is not vital as we can move this later.

Step 5: Select the base view that you created in Step 4 > Press P on your keyboard to create a projected view.

End View: as you move your cursor to the right you will notice that you can create a side elevation (side view). Left-click to confirm this projection.

Plan View: as you move your downwards you create a plan elevation (birds eye view). Left-click to confirm this projection.

Isometric View: as you move your downwards and left you will create an isometric elevation. Left-click to confirm this projection.

Press ENTER to confirm all views.

To reposition views: Select the view > left-click on the grey handle > drag the view to the desired location on the page.

Try to reposition the views in the following way:

• The front elevation should be on the bottom-left.

• The end elevation should be to the right of the front elevation.

• The plan elevation should be above the front elevation. 

Step 6: Adding dimensions to straight edges:

Press the D key on your keyboard to enter the DIMENSION command.

Click on any two points on the vehicle and then move your cursor away from the vehicle to add a dimension.

Step 7: Adding dimensions to curves / circles:

Press the D key on your keyboard to enter the DIMENSION command.

Click on any curve on the vehicle and then move your cursor away from the vehicle to add a radius dimension.
