CNC Control Computer
Human-Machine Interface Power
Step 1: Power On the System
Turn on the main CNC machine.
Turn on the CNC Control Computer.
Turn on the HMI (Human-Machine Interface) or pendant console.
Home Button
Spindle Home Position
Step 2: Home the CNC Machine
Clear the machine bed of any tools, materials, or physical obstructions.
Select the Home command in the control software or on the HMI/pendant.
Allow the machine to execute its automatic homing routine (raising the Z-axis first, followed by X and Y movements).
Confirm that all axes reach the designated home location, set by default as the front-left corner.
Turn on air compressor
Set X,Y,Z coordinates to zero
Step 3: Enable Air Supply and Set Work Zero
Turn on the air compressor and allow system pressure to build (the motor will run momentarily).
On the HMI touchscreen, tap individual X, Y, and Z axis displays and press SET ZERO to clear the coordinates to 0.000.
Feedrate and movement controls
Step 4: Move the Spindle Clear of the Bed
Increase the feed override slider on the HMI to 150% to speed up travel.
Jog the Y-axis toward the back of the machine to create room for loading stock.
The spindle must be moved to the back of the machine
Power Off Human-Machine Interface
Reset Button
Step 5: Open the Cabinet
Press the mushroom-headed stop button to power down the router. This safety measure disengages the magnetic lock, allowing you to open the cabinet door.
Note: Once the router is powered back on (after Step 7), press the orange RESET button.
The spindle must be moved to the back of the machine
Stock corner should align with spoilboard
Step 6: Load and Secure the Stock
Place the raw material onto the sacrificial board (spoilboard).
Ensure the corners of the stock material line up with the spoilboard
Y Axis controls
Step 6.1: Position the Spindle for a Tool Change
Use the Y- button to move the spindle to the front-left corner.
Armada Tool Set
Collet
Step 7: Tooling
Remove the collet brush.
Loosen the collet using the two supplied spanners (place the larger spanner on the bottom nut).
Insert the specified end mill into the collet.
Tighten the collet nut securely.
Manual button
Vacuum button
Step 8: Engage Vacuum Bed
Press MANUAL > VACUUM on the screen to clamp the material to the bed.
Verify the stock is seated completely flat and secure against movement.
Spindle coordinate controls
Paper shim test
Step 9: Zeroing & Work Coordinate System (WCS)
X/Y Zeroing: Use the X and Y controls to jog the spindle to the front-left corner of the stock, then set X=0 and Y=0.
Z Zeroing: Place a sheet of paper on your target reference surface (top of stock). Lower the spindle until you feel slight friction on the paper, then set Z=0.
Replace the collet brush.
Step 1: Open File
Step 3: Select File (by name)
Step 5: Select Home
Step 2: Select USB
Step 4: Transfer File
Step 6: Load File
Step 10: File Load
Press OPEN FILE in the top-right corner of the HMI screen.
Select USB on the new screen.
Search for the file by name, then select its checkbox.
Select TRANSFER to move the file from the USB drive to internal CNC memory.
Select HOME to return to the main screen.
Select LOAD FILE.
Visual Confirmation: A preview of the object's tool path will appear on screen.
Confirm Tool Path
Turn on LEV System
Step 11: Pre-Cut Toolpath Confirmation & Safety:
Visually verify the loaded object toolpath preview on the display.
Turn on the Dust Collection System (LEV).
Put on required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including ear defenders.
Step 12: Cutting Execution
Cycle Start: Turn on the spindle, verify the target RPM, and initiate the run.
Live Monitoring: Observe the first pass closely. Listen for spindle strain or chatter, and adjust feed-rate overrides as needed.
Step 13: Part Extraction
Safe Retract: Wait for the spindle to come to a complete stop and retract to its safe park position before approaching the bed.
Cleanup & Extraction: Vacuum residual chips, cut any holding tabs using a flush-trim saw or chisel, and remove the stock.
