Visual Arts
Curriculum Aims
Art is never limited by object or medium. Every student can be an outstanding artist, and in addition to achieving the Education Bureau's four learning objectives of arts education, we also focus on providing students with interesting and appropriate visual arts activities to achieve the following four objectives of the school-based curriculum:
- To enable students to enjoy the fun of visual arts and to explore their unique potential.
- To cultivate and develop students' healthy interests and enrich their leisure time.
- To enhance students' self-learning, creativity and other generic skills in the creative process.
- To enrich students' perspective and life experience through exposure to different cultures and media.
Curriculum Areas
This programme covers different kinds of media including painting, photography, printmaking, collage, sculpture, etc. There are two major areas of study:
- Creativity
- Appreciation
Teaching Strategies
To achieve the aims of the school-based curriculum and to enable students to enjoy the fun of visual arts, the following teaching methods and strategies are mostly adopted in Visual Arts lessons:
- Demonstration
Teachers simplify and break down the processes and explain to the students in the demonstration to help students understand different techniques.
- E-learning
E-learning elements are used to cater for students’interests, abilities and needs to enhance students’ learning effectiveness. For example, using VR virtual reality to enhance students’imagination; using 3D pens and 3D printers to enhance students’ motivation to learn; using QR Code to provide students with more ways of assessment, etc.
Curriculum Features
To achieve the aims of the school-based curriculum, to recognise the efforts of students and to encourage them to continue to learn and create, the following elements of the programme have been extended:

Through exploring community resources, we organise exhibitions for students outside the school to showcase their learning achievements.
- Beautification of Campus Space
Exhibit students' artworks in different spaces in the school to beautify the campus and show their learning achievements to themselves, parents and visitors.
