The 7th Grade Boys Basketball Season Comes to an End.

After a good season the 2023-2024 basketball season comes to an end for the 7th grade boys. The 7th grade boys have had a good season this year and played well but it has had to come to an end.

This year the 7th grade boys basketball team had a good season but how well did they play? Well Drew Figg, a player on the team says that the 7th grade boys have won about 8 games and have lost about 5 games this season. Drew also says that the season was a little rough because a ton of good players got injured but overall he says it was pretty good. There are about 12 players on the team but a few of the top players on the team are Luke Druckrey, Jesse Dixon, and Zane Powell but there are a lot of other good people who continued to get better throughout the season according to Drew. Also the coaches of the team are Trever Powell and Zeke Powell.

Drew Figg, a player on the 7th grade boys basketball team, has been playing basketball for about ten years and it is one of his favorite sports. Drew says that “One of my favorite things about basketball is getting to play one of my favorite sports with a bunch of my friends. For practices Drew says that they do a lot of conditioning during practice and that it is a little challenging but not too hard. Drew says, “Games have been a little harder than normal this season because a lot of good players have been injured.”

The 7th grade boys did well in the county tournament this season but what was it like on the court during the tournament? Well, Bricen Collins, another player on the 7th grade boys basketball team who has been playing basketball since he was in 4th grade says, “Tournaments are really fun and I like them because It's nice to have a reward for playing well.” The county tournament was on January 27th and it was here at the Edgewood junior high. Bricen says that the 7th grade boys played 2 games and won the first game and the second game that was against Jackson Creek. A few of the many players who did really well at the county tournament are Hudson Martone, Zane Powell, Luke Druckrey, and Drew Figg. Bricen says that, “One of my favorite things about playing basketball is getting to play a sport I like with my friends.”
