2023-2024 Colts Football Season

By: Bricen Collins 9/12/23

Here we are back again for another year of school, and you know what comes with school, sports! School sports are a big part of our school and entertain many students and keep them in shape. Many students every year after a long day of school come back to the gym or to the field to watch sports and meet with their friends and socialize, and the first sports that everyone thinks about is Colts Football.

The Colts Football season has already begun and their current record for the 7th graders are down 0-3 and the 8th graders up 3-0. Both teams really want to do their best this season as they practice everyday afterschool and play games on thursday. The 8th graders are really hyped up with lots of confidence and energy starting the season. The 7th graders are having a rough start but they have no desire to give up and are continuing at full speed with an amazing attitude. Fun fact the middle school team does not have their own field, so they use the high school field.Ā

Some players on the 7th grade football team are Jack Grubaugh, Cj Riggs, and Aiden Williamson. Some players on the 8th grade team are William Hosey and Toby Conners. If you know any of these players then encourage them and give them encouragement to be able to get the season going and successful.

If you want to go to the games which you definitely should, then the games are every Thursday with an exception of September 13th which will be on a wednesday, 8th grade will be playing right after 7th grade. But if you want to play for the team it is still open to join you don't even need to try out you just need to have passing grades and a good attitude just talk to Mr. Sparks and you might be able to join the team.

If you have not been to a football game yet then you definitely should because Colts football is the heart of the spring and fall season of sports. Be sure to make it to our next game, this wednesday against tri-north. When you go make sure to bring lots of school spirit and help our Edgewood Colts win!
