Teachers are amazing people who love to help kids learn and socialize, so how about having another teacher? We have a new special education teacher, Mrs. Oresko! She even taught for a very long time at a high school! “I taught for seven years at a high school in MCCSC as a special ed teacher and I did a great amount of inclusion math,'' says Mrs.Oresko. She loves and does so much face painting on kids to help a charity to raise money. She spends a lot of time at her church and even has a side business which is face painting!

Mrs.Oresko says that her favorite memory, is when she was out one day and her fish actually passed away and her students were being very informative and helping, “I have fish in here and I’ve tried to get them to have babies because they’re guppies and they’re supposed to. One of the days that I wasn’t here, one of my fish died and I actually received emails from multiple students! I think that there was just something kind of sweet about how students thinking to reach out to me when I wasn’t here.” That just seems like something very sweet that kids would do for their teacher which shows what a great new teacher she’s coming out to be!

She has three children, a second grader, a first grader, and a preschooler. She says she came to this school because her children are going here. Mrs.Oresko says it seems far away but she wanted to check out the school her kids would go to. She’s a special education teacher for seventh and eighth graders. She says she loves the community here and she lives in a neighborhood with many kids who go to this school. She says she enjoyed Halloween to the fullest when 20 to 30 kids came up to her doorstep trick or treating. “Just being close to, working with, getting to know, and supporting a community when you live, work, and engage in the same place is just really special.“

She has lovely guppies and even says that she's been trying for some more guppies in her fish tank, she says, ”I kept a captains log which is where I document everyday about what I was seeing but quickly realized that nothing was happening so I’m not sure what went wrong but right now we have three girls and one guy, we’ve had zero babies in three months. They’re really pretty, I like the guppies. It’s nice to have some extra life in the classroom.”

She loves helping kids and spending time with them. “I provide a resource classroom as well as inclusion support, which means I have some students who come in here and they get extra help or time that they need.”  She says that on days when she's gone she usually receives very kind messages when coming in after being absent, she says she'll see things on her white board that say things like, “We missed you today.“ or, “Hope everyones doing well.“, just some really kind things to read when coming in one day. Overall I’d say she is going to make an amazing teacher here and a great fit for this school!
