1st Season! Episodes 1-3  * includes spoil alerts*

1st episode (I have Called you by Name)

In the first episode of season 4 Mary Magdalene was possessed and had seven demons inside her. She had to fight her way through fear of satan. The greatest pharisee, Nicodemus, even came to try to help her but failed. She began to forget who she even was and was  living the worst life possible. Meanwhile Nicodemus was sharing the word of Jesus to the people and Mary was still suffering. Towards the end of the episode Mary was going to the bar and there was someone who knew her by her true name, Mary. Because at that point no one knew her by her real name they just called her Lilith. The person who identified her was Jesus, she didn’t believe him. But he healed her and she was SO relieved and cried out to him. She was saved! After that she began to live the best life possible. Because of Jesus her life was saved and after that they began to become the best of friends. This story is a great message for how much Jesus loves and cares about us.

Mary's shabbat

Episode 2 (Shabbat)

In the second episode Mary Magdalene was healed and she held a “party” for something called shabbat shalom  which means “Day of rest.” Meanwhile Matthew, a tax collector, was going to talk to the boss   (you could say) named Quintus about 2 men who he had helped in the previous episode named Simon and Andrew who were going to see Quintus. Quintus was the army man that Matthew talked about Simon and Matthew. Therefore the army man excused Matthew for letting Simon and Matthew not pay their taxes at the moment. Going back to Mary… she invited two people named Barnaby and Shula for her first shabbat shalom dinner in forever. Shula was blind and was making some funny jokes like saying, “You look good tonight” but she could not see because she was blind. Later on in the dinner Mary heard a knock and at the door Jesus (the guy who healed her) was standing there. So Mary, Barnaby, Shula and Jesus talked for a while and got caught up. What they did not know was that Jesus was the son of God and came down to help the world.

Episode 3 (Jesus Loves the Little Children)

The 3rd episode starts with a little girl asking her mom to go to the river. She goes to the river and sees a little hut set up. Her family is pretty poor so when she saw the food by the fire she really wanted to eat it. A little while later a man who must be the owner of the little hut set up comes and scares the little girl away. (as you may have guessed that man was Jesus). The next day the little girl comes back with her little friend named Joshua. Jesus sees the little girl and Joshua and prays for them to have the courage to come up to him. So of course the little kids went up to him and started talking. Jesus called Joshua  “Joshua the Brave” because he helped the little girl have enough courage to go up to Jesus.  The next day the little girl and  “Joshua the Brave” went back to the river with more little kids. That day the kids say the Lord's Prayer found in Matthew (6:9–13). As the days go by the kids continue to go to Jesus and play.

So, if you have the chance I definitely recommend you watch The Chosen. It is a really good story that tells you the importance of Jesus’ life, and shares the good news of him.
