9-13 year olds destroying Sephora and Ulta

Sephoras and Ultas have been destroyed, but by children. From destroying products and testers, to being disrespectful to employees and customers, these 9-13 years olds, also known as tweens, are destroying these stores.

If you have been on the internet, you most likely have seen tons of videos, stories, and comments from people complaining about the tweens in the beauty stores. “I think it’s stupid because 10 year olds are digging into the Drunk Elephant stuff and like making a big mess,” said Starla Deckard, a sixth grade student at EJHS. These children have been destroying testers and products you have to buy. They have also been disrespectful to employees for no reason, and using products that harm their skin. While the children are being menaces to society, the parents are on the sidelines not doing anything as if they are completely helpless. The question is, why are these kids going to these beauty stores? Why are they using expensive products they don’t need? Why do they suddenly even want these things anyway?

There are many reasons why, such as having nowhere to go as a place to just relax and be away from the troubles of home and school. There used to be stores like Justice that had closed down and became online after the pandemic, but there is still stuff like Claries, so why are they going to the Sephoras and Ultas? Well, not only is there a lack of actual places for these tweens to go, but the lack of online space. The flashy kid games and point and click games have mostly been taken away or now online. So these kids found Tik Tok, which was an app made for kids to do little dances and stuff, but it was corrupted by beauty ads and adults. The adults have made, get ready with me videos, having these expensive products that are made for adults, and they aren't using Claire's. These kids want to look and be like the pretty adults they see on the internet.

While all of this is going on, the parents have been on the sidelines, not stopping their kids from being rude or using skin damaging products. The parents need to step up and actually help and do something about this, and the Sephoras and Ultas, instead of sitting on the sidelines watching chaus unfold. The beauty store's employees should at least tell these kids how the products are harming their skin, and this whole time the parents have been making some comments and videos but not actually doing anything about it.

Some people might not find this as a problem but it is. Maybe somehow it will be taken care of and the Sephora tweens won’t be causing chaos anymore to the beauty stores.
