Have you ever had a teacher that listens to you, cares about you, and has fun with you all at the same time? If not, then you do not have Marsi Jones! Mrs. Jones is a social studies and Current Events teacher here at EJHS.

Mrs. Jones says, “I think flexibility, empathy, and eagerness to listen are among my top three.  I find it easier to connect ideas and themes when I understand my students and can give real world examples that they would better understand.” This shows that she listens to students. It means so much to her when students open up. That is a really great quality to have as a teacher, because when you know the teacher actually cares, you can listen to them much better. Many students open up to her and find that she is one of the kindest,  and greatest humans you could ever meet. She’s genuinely an amazing person, and an amazing teacher.

Mrs. Jones knows a lot about what she teaches. When She talks about current events that are taking place, you can tell she has an interest in what she teaches, because she gets very passionate about the topic. “When it comes to history, I see it more in terms of patterns and themes than memorizing dates and people.  I feel like a detective putting the pieces together to uncover a deeper understanding of people and events,” she says

"I like Mrs. Jones because she's nice and actually cares about us." Says Brian Rogers

"She makes her classes a lot of fun, she's super sweet, and she will interact with you. Also, she lets us wear her Kentucky Derby hats!" Says Alice Musselwhite.

“Mrs. Jones is one of the nicest teachers I have met this year. She makes learning in class so much fun for all of her students. You can really tell that she tries her hardest to make her students feel welcome and happy,” says Savanna Posey.

Rogers, Musselwhite, and Posey have her for 6th Period Social Studies.

Mrs. Jones has two daughters. She loves to travel, especially as a social studies teacher. She loves all music. She enjoys it when she can fit it with her mood.

As you can tell, Mrs. Jones is an amazing, smart, and empathetic person. If you’ve had her as a teacher, you know precisely what we’re talking about.

“I enjoy the content I teach, but more than that I just enjoy hanging out with kids and being a part of their development as a human.” That is proof of how much she cares about students.
