Is YouTube Hard to Do?

Have you ever thought about having a YouTube channel, being famous, and getting rich? Maybe even to the point where you are walking around in public and people just know who you are? Well, if you ever have, I have to let you know, it doesn’t come easily. But if you put in the work, then you would most certainly be able to be a well known YouTuber. So in this article I will be saying how hard it is to gain subscribers and what it takes.

This is a picture of Markiplier (Mark Fischbach). Has has 34.3 Million subscribers.

First, here are the standards of YouTube. You can get subscribers off of really well put together videos, or some random video that somehow went viral. That can be the deciding factor to how your channel does. If you only get your subscribers because of low quality random videos, then that will not last you for long. Unless you start to improve your videos, then it won’t go well.

If you are making good quality videos when you only have around 50 subscribers, then that is a good thing, because it is good to have good quality videos even at an early stage of your channel. You will most likely start to gain a lot of subscribers with those good quality videos, so if you do that then don’t get discouraged and keep on the grind. Trust me, it will pay off.

I asked a couple of people what type of stuff makes them want to subscribe to a YouTube channel, and this is what they said. Bella Bennet, a 6th grader, says, "It has to be a funny channel for me to subscribe." Aiden Williamson says, "I like comedy and gaming videos."

I think that there can be different waves of how you can gain subscribers. Like sometimes you will be gaining a ton every day, but then you can go a month with only gaining a couple. But that doesn’t mean you should give up, because that always happens. Maybe the content you are posting is just a more or less popular subject at times, so you will get less views. That’s why you should post some different types of content sometimes, just in case the one thing that you do becomes really unpopular.

Now for the last thing, how to make money. If you don’t know, there is a way to make ad revenue on YouTube, called getting monetized. You will need 1,000 subscribers to get monetized, and 4,000 hours of watch time. So basically it’s like if you post a 4,000 hour long youtube video, and 1 person watches it all the way through, then you will be able to get monetized as long as you have 1,000 subscribers. You can make a certain amount of money per 1,000 views you get on your video, as long as you have ads. So if you make $15 per 1,000 views, and you get 12,000, then you will make $180 on one video. That’s how that can be somebody’s job, if they make enough money.

In conclusion, it isn’t too hard to gain subscribers, but it can be more or less difficult at times. If you have a YouTube channel, keep going, and if you want to make one, then I suggest you probably should!
