As fall comes around so does its traditions which means apple cider, pumpkin pie and cool weather but that's not all.  That’s right, the Fall Festival is coming back for the first time since Covid! The Monroe County Fall Festival starts September 15 and ends on the 17th. The festival will take place near Marci Jane Lewis park and Ellettsville Baseball Diamonds. Times are: Thursday 5pm-9pm, Friday 5pm-9pm and Saturday 1pm-9pm.

The Fall Festival will also feature different events such as craft booths, where you can make jewelry, stuffed animals, headbands etc. There will also be games like the Ax Throw, Hamster Ball, Inflatables, Bounce House and Miniature Golf. Do you have money to spend or something to sell? The Fall Festival will have a flea market over at the Baseball Diamond. If you have a younger sibling you may take them to spend time with this year's Fall Festival queen and the Monroe County fair queen to make cupcakes, get a manicure, do crafts and take pictures. Want to take a piece of the festival home with you, take pictures at the old town photo booth.

If you get hungry don’t worry, food trucks and food vendors will be all around. Food vendors will include, Jiffy Treat, Papa John’s, Kona Ice and many more.

As usual there will be a Fall Festival parade Saturday September 17 at noon. This year's parade theme will be, “22 and brand new”. The parade will not be rescheduled if canceled due to weather. Restrooms will be available at the HS. The parade staff will be wearing yellow vests. If you wish to sign up for the parade or find additional information click this link

“It was really fun!” says Poppy Bishop, a 6th grade student at EJHS, when describing her experience in past years. Poppy describes the festival as, “Very family friendly”. She was asked if wanted to do it again and agreed. Poppy stated various events from the past fall festivals, ” We did a type of bungee jump and ate a lot of fair foods. I also think it is good to do it with your family when you're little or with your friends when you're older” .

So do you think this will be the year you eat fair foods, play games or even march in this year's fall festival parade. Entry is free so bring your family and friends and have fun at this year's Monroe county fall festival!
