Edgewood’s 6th grade boys basketball season has come to an end with the last game being the 5th of February 2023. Both teams had a good season with the A team going 7-3 and the B team going 4-6. The players on both A and B teams played great and gave it their all every game. The players on the A team include Luke D, Zane P, Drew F, Brayton A, Cooper M, Brody D, Jessie D, and Anderson G. The players on the B team include Bricen C, Aiden W, Caleb G, Liam D, Liam N, Jackson S, Mason K, and Cooper W.

The 6th-grade boys' basketball team played all their games amazingly. They didn’t give up one time. The First game was against Indian Creek Middle School at EJHS. Their next game was against Orleans Jr-Sr High School at Orleans Jr-Sr High. The next game they had was against North Clay at EJHS. The 5th game the team faced was against Mitchell at EJHS. Then we played against Owen Valley again, this time at EJHS. Our last game was against Brown county at their home school. The team also went to the patriot's invite and participated in the bracket game. They had a tournament with a bunch of schools and they participated in it. They won against OV in the championship game by 5! They all played great and had fun in the process!

These games were super intense and really fun to watch! Our cheerleaders saw it all! Here's a quote from one of our cheerleaders, Payton Baugh, “Watching basketball is so fun but it can be scary when the players run into you or the ball almost hits you and you have to struggle to pick it up and throw with the pom-poms” Cameron Sessions also said, “It’s very interesting to watch and it gets you very motivated.” Now, here are some quotes from a few of our players! Drew Figg said,  “My favorite part of the season was playing Owen Valley for the first time.” Bricen Collins said, “My favorite game of the season was when we played Owen Valley at Edgewood High School.” Zane Powell also said, “ I felt really good about our season. I think we came in with good energy and a good attitude and battled all the way through every game.” We had so many close games, some when we lost and some when we won with a great example being the game against Owen Valley at the high school where we won in our first game by one point but lost in our last game by one point.

Overall the team had a great season winning the majority of their games. They all played amazingly and worked very well as a team. The coaches helped the team develop. Now they are doing better than they were at the beginning of the season. I bet everybody enjoyed all their games and watched them compete and never give up. We hope to see all of the boys continue with basketball next year and do just as well or better. Next year, hopefully, will be amazing and even more exciting than this year!
