What is Tutor Persona?
Casual and Accommodating
Used during General English lessons and Young Learner (Teens) lessons
General English students are considered casual learners. To ensure that students are engaged, tutors should deliver the lesson with a friendly and accommodating tone of voice.
Young Learners (Teens) usually feel uninterested in taking lessons. To catch their interest and attention, tutors must show a casual and accommodating persona in lessons. This should be done without talking to them with high energy or an animated tone of voice.
Why do we need to display a proper tutor persona?
If a tutor talks to a student taking a business lesson in a fun and accommodating manner, the student may feel that the tutor is not taking the lesson seriously. This may cause the student to feel demotivated or unsatisfied with the lesson.
It is important that tutors show the appropriate persona so as not to affect their students' learning progress.
How do we display the proper tutor persona?
Tutors should show the proper persona by adjusting their tone, showing appropriate manner, and displaying good character during the lesson.
General atmosphere or vocal quality appropriate with the program
Actions or gestures appropriate with the program
