The purpose of this policy is to outline Rareform's approach to employee compensation, ensuring fair and consistent pay practices across the organization.
This policy applies to all full-time, part-time, temporary, and contract employees of Rareform.
Policy Guidelines
Pay Structure
Rareform has established pay grades based on job roles, responsibilities, and market research.
Employees will be informed of their pay grade upon hiring and during any job role changes.
Pay Periods
Employees are paid bi-weekly on Fridays.
Pay stubs will be accessible through the company's online HR platform.
Overtime Pay
Non-exempt employees will receive overtime pay in accordance with federal and state laws.
Approval for overtime must be obtained from a supervisor in advance.
Bonuses and Incentives
Eligibility for performance bonuses, sales commissions, or other incentive pay is defined by individual employment contracts or departmental guidelines.
Pay Increases
Pay increases are reviewed annually during performance evaluations.
Adjustments may be based on performance, promotion, or changes in market rates.
Deductions
Legally mandated deductions such as federal and state taxes, and Social Security will be automatically deducted.
Voluntary deductions for benefits like health insurance or retirement contributions must be authorized by the employee.
Transparency
Rareform is committed to pay transparency and will provide avenues for employees to discuss or query their compensation without fear of retaliation.
Payroll Errors
Any payroll errors should be reported immediately to Human Resources for correction.
Failure to adhere to this policy may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.

Every Friday (year-round) is a Summer Friday! This means that the office will close early so everyone can get out and enjoy the a little longer of a weekend.
So when does the office close on Summer Fridays? Since everyone is starting work at a different time, we don't have a single set time for the day to be over. On Summer Fridays, you'll only be expected to work a 5 hour day. If you start at 8am, you're done at 1pm, start at 9am, you're done at 2pm (if you don't take a lunch).
We know there is always more to do and ending early on a Friday might seem hard, but we encourage everyone to take advantage of Summer Fridays as much as possible. While there are sometimes hard deadlines that need to be met, if you've worked your 5 hours and something can wait until Monday, let it wait until Monday!
*NOTE: Summer Fridays are an additional benefit for those who are working a Friday. If you are using your PTO on a Friday, you will still be required to request off the full 8 hours for the day.
Rareform offers a company sponsored health insurance plan through Covered California. The plan is administered through Gusto. There are 4 plans to choose from: Kaiser Gold HMO (CA only), Kaiser Silver HMO (CA only), Blue Shield Gold PPO, and Blue Shield Silver PPO.
Plan Details:
Employee: Your company covers up to 50% of the premium of CCSB Kaiser Gold 80 HMO 1000/40 Alt. Employee pays the difference in premium if they select a more expensive plan.
Dependents: Employee pays for the whole premium.
New hire waiting period: 1st of the month after hire
Effective dates: Jul 1, 2021 - Jun 30, 2022
Termination policy for dismissed employees: Last day of the month, on or after termination

We value and want to support the mental health and wellbeing of all Rareform team members. We encourage you to take measures to support your mental health, and we're here for you if you ever need anything. We have two initiatives to help with this:
We sponsor a Peleton App Subscription for every team member ($12.99.mo). They offer Yoga, Dance, Cardio, Meditation, Running, etc. Once you download the Peloton app, you can submit an expense in Gusto to be reimbursed the $12.99 each month.
We hold all team members accountable to take one mental health day every 6 months (two mental health days/year) - a day to rest and recharge. Let your manager know before you take a mental health day - so they can know you will be gone and submit the day in Gusto with the reason "Mental Health Day"
Exercising creates endorfins and that is why we offer reimbursement for completing one race per calendar year, up to $150. Once you complete the race we will give you a bonus equal to your race fees (up to $150).

We encourage people to form groups and take online courses, trainings, or read books on something that they’d like to learn together. Learning with your team members will help motivate you and to provide alternative viewpoints on the subject manner. It also can be a great way to bond with your colleagues.
Groups with more than 3 people will be required to host trainings and to give a talk about the new skills you’ve learned. This is not meant to test course completion. This process is informal and meant to encourage knowledge sharing and keep everyone curious and constantly learning new topics.
Connect with your team about the courses you'd like to take. If there's joint interest in a course, and it's affordable, connect with your manager about it to see if RF can help cover the cost.
The Company will cover the cost of English courses for all ESL employees. The Company will also reimburse qualifying employees for the cost of college courses.
In an effort to help our team members bring their whole selves to work, we allow well-behaved dogs to join their owners in the Agoura Hills office. Just make sure your dog is safe for a work environment, they're not left to wander around the office on their own, they're potty trained, and they aren't frequently crying, growling, or barking in the office.
As a dog owner, you sometimes tune out your own pups noises and personality quirks, but keep in mind that it's not always easy for your team members to do the same. Try putting yourself in someone else's shoes, if your dog is frequently making loud noises, then they might not be the right fit to be in the office. Remain objective and use your best judgement here. Think of it like a crying baby sitting next to you on the airplane. You feel bad for the baby, and for the parent caring for the child, but the loud crying noises and screams in your ear isn't the most relaxing experience for you to listen to on your flight.

At Rareform, we value giving back to our communities and recognize the importance of supporting employees' involvement in community service activities. This policy outlines our commitment to providing paid time off for employees to engage in community service efforts.
All regular full-time employees are eligible to participate in the Community Service Paid Time Off (CSPTO) program. Part-time employees may also be eligible on a pro-rated basis, as determined by their employment status.
Paid Time Off Allocation:
Each eligible employee is entitled to 20 hours or more of paid time off per calendar year to participate in approved community service activities.
The specific number of hours allocated may vary based on the employee's employment status and the company's discretion.
Approved Community Service Activities:
Employees may use CSPTO hours to engage in a wide range of community service activities, including volunteering for nonprofit organizations, participating in charitable events, and contributing to community development projects.
Employees must obtain approval from their supervisor or manager before scheduling CSPTO hours to ensure alignment with company values and operational needs.
Scheduling and Coordination:
Employees should coordinate their CSPTO hours with their supervisor or manager in advance to minimize disruption to work schedules and ensure coverage of essential duties.
CSPTO hours may be taken as full days, half days, or in hourly increments, as agreed upon between the employee and their supervisor.
Documentation and Reporting:
Employees are required to accurately record their CSPTO hours in the company's timekeeping system or designated tracking tool.
Upon completion of community service activities, employees should provide documentation or verification of their participation, such as volunteer hours logs, event certificates, or confirmation from the sponsoring organization.
Limitations and Exclusions:
CSPTO hours cannot be used for personal appointments, leisure activities, or other non-community service purposes.
CSPTO hours cannot be carried over from one calendar year to the next. Any unused CSPTO hours will expire at the end of the calendar year.
