We want to make your onboarding process as easy and seamless as possible. Our hope is that as soon as you begin at Rareform you will feel supported, included, and set up to succeed! Below, we lay out a few more details to give you an idea of what to expect for your start.
Setup
To provide for an amazing onboarding experience, the Rareform team works closely with the hiring manager to ensure all the new hire equipment, accesses and workstations (desk setup) are setup and ready to go for their first day.
Create Accounts
Prior to their start, they will be sent an email with information on how to set up an account with Gusto. Through Gusto, they will fill out tax information, direct deposit information if applicable, and some other personal information.
They will also be set up with their Rareform email. Once this is setup, they will be able to create accounts on any other websites/platforms you will need for your job (Asana, Shopify, Slack, etc.) This does not all need to be completed before the first day. They were walk through the setup steps in their Interactive Onboarding Experience.
Team Welcome
A pre-state email will be sent out to the new hire welcoming them to the team. Team members will be asked to include one personal fact, a quick intro about their position, and how they can help the new hire in their role. The new hire will also recieve a Welcome Gift - water bottle, hat, shirt.
First Day Logistics
The hiring manager informs the new hire about their first-day schedule, asks them what type of laptop they want, let's them know where to park, and provides all the other logistical information that they need to make their first day a breeze!
Office Tour
A new hire's first day begins with an office tour provided by either the hiring manager or an operations member. This tour helps the new hire get acquainted with office space and ensures they know where to find things they might need.
Orientation
The hiring manager conducts an orientation with the new hire to go over this handbook and give them an overview of the company purpose, mission, culture, and benefits.
This is also the time for the new hire to meet with their new manager to understand their role and what is expected of them.
This meeting is meant as an opportunity to walk the new hire through the team, roles and responsibilities, and projects. This gives the new hire an opportunity to clarify any questions or concerns they might have and to explain and familiarize the new hire with our cultural values.
New Hire Lunch
The new hire will have lunch with their respective team and their manager. This lunch helps the team and the new hire start to get to know each other on a more personal level.
Q & A with CEO
The new hire will also get the opportunity to meet with the CEO, Alec Avadessian, to ask any questions they may have about the brand, the team, etc. They should come prepared with questions and what they want to know.
Interactive Onboarding Experience
The hiring manager will show the new hire how to start the interactive onboarding experience. This project will be tracked in Asana. If the hiring manager or new hire have any further questions on this onboarding process, they can reach out to Rebekah.
Warehouse Day
The hiring manager arranges and schedules the new hire for their warehouse day. Here they get to experience a day in the life of the warehouse team. They are given a guided tour of the facility and are walked through the process of picking, packing and shipping. This gives them an idea about how we fulfill orders at the backend and the effort that goes behind shipping a single order. They will also get a walk through of the BV Warehouse and go through the process of cutting the billboards.
Happy Hour
Sometime during the first week, the team will be invited to happy hour at Stoneahus or Fig Mountain (Post COVID-19) or an in-house happy hour (In COVID-19) to spend time together as a team and get to know the new hire more.
Over the first week, the new hire will schedule one-on-one meetings with each of the team members to get to know them better and learn a bit more about their position.
In their first month, new hires go through a set of trainings and meetings that will equip them with the necessary skills and information to succeed in their roles at Rareform. A few of these sessions are listed below:
Sexual Harassment Training
This is a mandatory training that every new hire has to go through for compliance purposes. This gives a general overview of what constitutes harassment and the does and don't of how to handle harassment in the workplace. The hiring manager will schedule this training for the new hire.
All Team Lunches
Once a month, we offer all team lunches. This is a time for the office staff and warehouse team to gather together, eat good food, and get to know each other better. The goal of these lunches is for employees to get to know people outside of their department who they may not work with on a daily basis.

Be able to give a warehouse tour
Comfortable answering the phone and zendesk questions
Master company programs: Asana, Shopify QB's, Zendesk, CRM
