Our 10th Green Flag was raised officially by our special guest Emma Donoghue, manager of the Mary Robinson Centre in Ballina. Emma commended the school on the great work we are doing and all members of the hard working Green Schools Committee detailed that work
On the 20th of May, our Green Schools Coordinator Ms Howley and three members of our Green Schools Committee went to the McWilliam park hotel in Claremorris to collect our 10th green flag - 'Global citizenship, food and biodiversity'.
This is a special flag as it is the last green flag a school can achieve, and we shall now move on to project work to continue to foster a green ethos within our school. The children have worked hard researching food miles in the senior classes and learning about pollinators and their importance in the junior classes. Each class has also had the opportunity to plant and grow crops and taste some of the produce from our garden.
