Camera not working in Google Meet? Be sure the CAMERA is not Blocked.
Cannot hear the teacher in Google Meet? Be sure the SOUND is not Muted.
Cannot hear the Meet? Be sure the MICROPHONE is not Muted.
Click on the image of a LOCK next to "meet.google.com.....", then on the desired setting to make changes.

Teacher cannot hear student in Meet? Make sure the input volume on your speaker is not too low.
Chromebook: Click on time displayed at bottom right of screen.
Click the arrow to the right of the volume setting.
Drag the slider to the right to increase the output volume.
Also, try these shortcut commands on Chromebook:
Mute and unmute: Ctrl + e
Turn camera on/off: Ctrl + d
Macbook:
Go to System Preferences, Sound and follow images below.
Student cannot hear anything on Chromebook:
Be sure the Output Sound setting is properly set for speaker (internal) or headphone.
Also, try these shortcut commands on Macbook:
Mute and unmute: Ctrl + e
Turn camera on/off: Ctrl + d
Are you using headsets? If so, check these settings inside your Google Meet Settings options and change your speakers and microphone for Google Meet
After a meeting starts, click the three dot menu for More Options, then select Settings
Select the tab for Audio
Choose a setting you want to change:
Microphone—Select your microphone device.
Speakers—Select your speakers. To test your speakers, click Test.
Click Done.
Other issues with Google Meet?
If you are trying to access Google Meet and you are experiencing odd behavior like: keeps dropping the Meet, etc., follow these steps to see if this will solve the issue:
On a Chromebook:
Click Sign Out at the lower right of your Chromebook screen
Shutdown your Chromebook
Turn the device on again and then proceed to log back into your device.
The Clever sign in page should appear. Log in with Google and try again.
On a Macbook:
Quit Chrome and try again. Go to the top menu bar, click on the tab Chrome then scroll down and select Quit Chrome. After the application has quit, relaunch Chrome and try again.
A restart of the device is always a good idea of the above steps do not help.
