Greetings! As the calendar year quickly comes to an end, we are excited to wrap-up a successful search for our new Full-Time faculty positions. In conjunction with Leadership, Human Resources, and our Legal Department, standard criteria were used in the hiring of all Full-Time Faculty positions throughout the University. Thank you to all who took the time to apply for these roles. We had a very strong and competitive applicant pool and we are excited for the following individuals to assume their new roles.
Help me congratulate our new Full-Time Faculty as they assume their new positions! We encourage anyone interested in additional growth opportunities with Purdue Global to continue applying for open positions. Boiler up!
The recently redesigned General Education Curriculum Site offers a one stop shop for curriculum resources. The Course Lead website, Course Issue form, and course development schedule are just a few of the resources available on the GenEd Curriculum Site. If you have a suggestion for additional tools and resources, please reach out to Tonya Scalise (tscalise@purdueglobal.edu).
Nikki Williams, Science Asst. Chair, was invited to speak at the 5th Annual Robert McCabe Conference on Friday, September 23, after being recommended by conference participants at the National Organization for Student Success (NOSS) Conference. The presentation "Using a Growth Mindset as a Catalyst for Change" addressed how using a growth mindset can drive diversity and inclusion efforts. Participants discussed inclusive language and ways to understand various generations.
Brook Bernhardt, a FT Adjunct Faculty in Math, shared the following tip on Virtual Field Trips. I take ten minutes during the seminar in Units 1-3 to share my screen and visit various areas of the course. Screensharing is so easy in Zoom! Students really appreciate the live guide to finding things they need. The fan favorite? Navigating the Discussion Boards with Grid View!
Do you have a best practice or tip you'd like to share? Feel free to email your department chair or fill out the GenEd Digest Spotlight Form found on the homepage!

On September 13th, 2022, Paige Erickson, FT Faculty member and author of the creative non-fiction collection The Nice Thing About Strangers, facilitated an engaging talk on Intergenerational Classrooms: Leveraging the Openness, Flexibility, and Wisdom of Adult Learners.
Based on research about Intergenerational Workplaces, these ideas are applied to PG classrooms where βwe can find ways to bridge these generational borders and delight in learning from people both older and younger than usβ (Conley, 2018, p. 112). This presentation suggests harnessing the value of our varied age demographics to deepen discussions, foster camaraderie among students, and build resilience for students at any decade in life.
The next speaker series event will take place on October 18th @6pm ET. We hope that you can attend.
