Learning and Teaching Innovation Team

Shaun is a Senior Educational Technologist who leads Content Capture and the administration of Panopto at the university. His expertise in this area has resulted in the platform being successfully rolled out across the institution and his creation of the University's supporting website and guidance has resulted nearly a quarter of a million videos being created. He often delves beyond using the mechanics of using the system into the world of analytics, innovation and student submission using video at faculty and institutional level. He was very proud to present his paper Evolving Perceptions of Content Capture at the Academic Practice and Technology Conference and is looking to further his research and findings in this area.

He also manages the eLearn team which is the central escalation point for all staff and student queries requiring expertise on Moodle and it's integrated systems. This also includes all assessment systems and Exams on campus and at a distance. Shaun has recently received a University recognition award for his work leading this team and supporting the university throughout this period.

Shaun previously taught and held senior leader roles for 10 years in schools across Portsmouth and Hampshire, following the completion of his Education degree in Birmingham. He has a keen passion for technology and its relationship with pedagogy and loves that his role enables him to explore this further.
