Learning and Teaching Innovation Team

Mike has recently joined the team as a Senior Educational Technologist, specialising in the development, delivery and support of online assessment. This role will also include assisting in the delivery and evaluation of the pilot of the end-to-end assessment platform, WiseFlow.

After teaching Maths and Music in FE for 11 years, Mike joined the university 6 years ago and has worked in various online developer roles across a number of departments.

During his time within the Schools of Engineering, Mike developed comprehensive and innovative assessment materials for the mathematical modules using Moodle’s integrated maths tools. He also produced a number of custom Google Apps projects, both administrative and educational, aimed at significantly reducing staff and student workload.

As both a teacher and developer, Mike has always sought to improve assessment and learning via the integration of technology and through online delivery, and is excited at the prospect of being able to do so in a more central role.
