Good morning girls and boys!

How exciting is it that by the end of May, we will each have three realistic fiction stories in a series?! Subtracting tens in math is so important! You only have to change the tens but the ones stay the same! We love the reading lesson today too! You get to use two different books and notice what is the same and different about them! Which two books will you choose?

Please watch this video and follow along. When you have finished watching, start independently reading from your book bag, RAZ kids, or other books you have from home. Try and notice the lessons that your books are trying to teach you.

Writing Showcase

We will be collecting photos of student writing and students working on their writing for an upcoming Writing Showcase!

If you feel comfortable displaying these photos on our website, please share them with your child's teacher by May 26th.

I can use a checklist to assess my writing and set a new goal.

Use the checklist to set a new goal. Go back through your stories and make changes to achieve that goal.

**Each day when you write, you may add on to a story you are working on OR start a new story OR go back and revise a story you have written. You should have at least 3 different realistic fiction stories you worked on by the end of May. **

Please have blank syllable cards ready for you to write down the syllable parts for each word and a writing tool.

You will need to have the Match Syllable activity page found under the Resource Tab for the week of May 18th. If you are not able to print the paper, please use paper at home on which to do your work.
