Materials for the Lesson
Please make sure you have printed out the syllable cards and the Syllable Match & Memory Game from the Resource tab at the top of this page. Remember to use the activity pages in connection with the lesson for the day.
IF you do not have access to a printer, no worries! Simply tear or cut up paper to make your own syllable cards. Please use the words from the lesson and those from the game.
Assignment: Today you will work with Ms. Pascucci on a syllable warm-up. *The video says it is Monday morning, but we know it is Tuesday.
You will need your syllable cards for this spelling lesson.
Assignment: You will work with Ms. Pascucci to spell two syllable words with one consonant between the vowels. Be ready to notice that some words, with two syllables that end with /ic/ in the second syllable, will be spelled with i-c.

In this video, you will learn all about the 120's chart and how it can be used for counting, skip counting, adding and subtracting. Math is all about patterns and you can find many patterns on the 120's chart.

I can use a number chart to subtract 10's from another two-digit number. I can think of counting back by tens to help me.
Today, we will practice subtracting groups of tens from a 2 digit number using the 120 chart. We can double check out work using other strategies such as drawing it out, using manipulatives, and thinking about subtraction using the tens place value (basic facts).
