GOOD MORNING!!
Time to rise and shine and begin your learning day! Today is Tuesday, June 2, 2020. You are going to continue learning how to make inferences which will build your understanding (comprehension) of the book while reading. Get your pencil sharpened, your paper ready, and activate your memories of First Grade! Today you will be thinking about what is the BEST part of first grade. Remember this is your OPINION so use because and give several reasons why. The first grade teachers can't wait to have you share your writing with them. Take time in your busy day to get outside, run around, and have some fun!
Fondly,
The First Grade Teachers
Get ready to make more inferences! Listen and follow along with Miss Dinsmore as she reads The Stray Dog. Press the play button to get started.
When you are done listening, you can independently read your books at home or on RAZ kids.
Click to watch the video and then write your opinion on what is the best part of first grade.
Materials for the Lesson
You will need to print out the CVC + e Word Activity for June 2nd. If you do not have a printer, simply write the words on paper you have at home.
Click the play button to begin.
Today you will work with a first grade teacher to read closed syllable words. Then you will add a silent e to make a new word, a cvc-e word.
Assignment: Please go to the Resource Tab to print out or write out the activity for CVC + e words.
When you are done, have your caregiver take a picture of your work and send it to your teacher.
Click the play button to begin the lesson.
In this video, Mrs. Olson-Bartley, teaches how to play the game, Race to 100. You can play it with a 100's Chart or as A Mental Math Game doing the adding in your head. If you choose to use a 100's chart as your game board, you can also build each number with tens and ones (you don't have to). You can use a deck of cards or one dice or two to know how much to add to the number you are on. You could even flip Digit Cards and add each equation using scrap paper. How ever you choose to play this game, just have fun!
If you like this game, you may want to play a Subtraction Game called: Countdown to 1. Start at 100, and subtract numbers until you get to 0.
