The NMPED Reading Endorsement Eligibility Tracker for Active LETRS Participants tracks participant progress toward eligibility to apply for a Reading Endorsement.
To become eligible for a Reading Endorsement, a participant must meet the following requirements:
Attend 40 hours of live facilitated LETRS sessions
Achieve 80% or higher on every LETRS unit and posttest assessment
Log 32 hours completing LETRS coursework in the LETRS platform for a total of 40 hours of online coursework
You can read more here: Reading Endorsement Information
To understand the information on the Eligibility Tracker, please be sure to read everything in each section on the LETRS 3E Participant Progress page.
Important: If you have already received your Eligibility for Reading Endorsement Memo, you do not need to take any action to update the NMPED's Reading Endorsement Eligibility Tracker. We are only using this to track your progress toward reading endorsement eligibility, and if you've received your memo, you are eligible.
If you are in an ongoing or recently completed Phase and find a discrepancy between your records and the NMPED's records for anything completed prior to the current month, you should report that discrepancy using the Discrepancy Reporting Form. Look at the heading of the Tracker to find update information. If the Tracker hasn't been updated yet for the previous month, don't report a discrepancy.
After your request has been processed, you will receive an email notification with the outcome of your request.
Reminder: We update the Eligibility Tracker during the first week of each month with the previous month's facilitated session attendance, assessment scores, and time spent completing online coursework. Please do not report discrepancies for the current month or during the first week of a month for anything completed during the previous month.
If you are in a Phase that ended more than three months ago there isn't a way to report a discrepancy. You can, however, request an additional review of your record if you now meet the Reading Endorsement eligibility requirements.
Visit the Request a Records Review page for more information.
Having a Certificate of Attendance does not guarantee that a participant will be marked present.
The expectation is that participants attend the entire 180 minute session in order to be considered present to ensure that participants do meet the 40 hours of live facilitated sessions required for reading endorsement eligibility.
We use the information from the Certificates of Attendance that a participant submits via the Discrepancy Reporting Form to look up the attendance record and verify that the participant attended the entire session.
Please remember that at the state level, we are responsible for ensuring that participants are meeting the requirements for reading endorsement eligibility outlined in Rule NMAC 6.64.3.8.
As you can read in Rule NMAC 6.64.3.8, reading endorsement eligibility as concerns attendance at facilitated sessions depends on the total number of hours a participant spends attending live sessions. Therefore, when a participant does not attend an entire session, we mark that participant absent because she/he is not meeting the threshold needed for reading endorsement eligibility, which is what the NMPED Reading Endorsement Eligibility Tracker for Active LETRS Participants is tracking--progress toward reading endorsement eligibility.
We share our system as a courtesy to allow participants to review their records and then sign-up for make-up sessions as necessary. Visit the Make-Up Facilitated Sessions page to register for upcoming sessions.
Please visit the Request a Certificate of Attendance page to resolve this issue.
If it is a one-time occurrence, check the Make-Up Facilitated Sessions page for make-up sessions that you can attend instead.
If you've checked the make-up sessions and your session isn't available this year, you may have to wait until next year. You can also check back weekly to see if a locally facilitated make-up session is added to the site for the session you need.
If your Cohort meets at a time that causes a repeated scheduling conflict, please communicate with your district or charter's Course Manager as soon as possible. Showing up late or leaving sessions early will likely result in you being marked absent and ineligible for reading endorsement. Your Course Manager may be able to help you find an alternative session.
