For this prompt draw, bake, paint, build a 3D model, etc. of a cake that addresses something you’d like to say to yourself, or to celebrate anything that recently happened in your life. It has to include lettering (piping words) on your cake!
Steps:
Brainstorm and decide on a recent celebratory moment, or write a message to yourself. Don’t overthink it, simple messages or mundane celebrations work better than complex ones. (Examples: “You have a nice smile” “Passed my exam” “You’ll be okay” “I love me” “I can parallel park” “You’re number 1”)
Search up photos of cakes and get inspiration from them. What shape is your cake? How many colors are you going to use? Is there a theme? Minimalist or maximalist?
Choose how you want to create your cake (Examples: drawing, baking, sculpting, etc.)
Create your cake!
Trish's Quick Bio = I am a quiet and reserved creative who indulges in too much retail therapy... whoops.
As someone who is more in touch with my personal feelings, and is on the journey to self love, I figured celebrating our own victories or writing a message to yourself is very much needed during these tough times. I want to bring in some lighthearted energy during this heavy and draining period. For my prompt I knew I wanted to incorporate some cake decorating elements since I enjoy cake, and scrolling through Pinterest and pinning aesthetic cake photos. I mostly use those photos as a reference for my drawings. When looking at pretty decorations it makes my heart happy, and makes me want to start baking again.
I noticed as of late that cakes has become a symbol of mundane oddities. It's not reserved just for birthdays or special occasions, it's for everything from celebrating getting a new job to writing sarcastic messages on the cake. So why not promote self love in a form of a cake? I believe that we should celebrate ourselves everyday as a reminder that we deserve to love ourselves too. The creative possibilities are endless when it comes to cake decorating (created in any medium like drawing or painting, not just as actual cake) so I hope anyone coming across this prompt can enjoy it and feel excited.
