We all have magic inside of us. We are magic. But we have gotten so used to the “grind” that we have forgotten how to use our magic to heal ourselves. I love spell jars to remind me to slow down, to find inner peace and healing and to remind me that in the midst of everything, I can control myself.
Use items around your home to make a “magical” spell jar. This jar will serve as a tangible reminder to slow down, BREATHE, and help remind your brain that things will be ok. It’s ok if you don't have all the ingredients. IMPROVISE! After all, it will be OK!
Gather the objects on the corresponding page and find a quiet place. Take three deep breaths deep down into your belly and slowly release. Set your intention for your spell jar that you will want to come back to through this prompt and that you want your jar to remind you of, such as: SELF-LOVE, SELF-HEALING and/or CALM ENERGY.
Light your candle. Envision a beautiful light washing over yourself and your items… as if they are being washed and cleansed. Keep your candle burning as you will be using the wax to seal your container.
Fill your jar with the ingredients and use the affirmation and intention statements provided while making your spell jar. Make sure you are breathing and relaxed.
Find a comfortable spot and hold your jar with the lid OFF. BREATHE. As you are meditating, imagine a bright light banishing all stress and anxiety from the very inside of your body outward. This bright and beautiful light shines from the most inner part of you and it starts by shining to the outermost parts of your body then it travels just outside of your body. You are already feeling freedom. Then this light travels outside of the room you are in and then it travels outside of the home you are in then it travels outside of the city you are in. You feel so peaceful and then the light is so far out into the atmosphere you can no longer see it and you happily say goodbye.
When you feel complete, put the lid on your jar or bottle. Take the wax from your candle and drip it over the lid (you will want to have something underneath the jar/bottle to catch excess wax).

I am a collector, which some might call clutter. But the reason I collect “stuff” is for many reasons. One is because I dont like glass going into landfills but the other reason is because glass jars in particular, are really useful for making jar spells. I have ADHD and I always have my head in the clouds. On top of this fast paced, social media driven, traumatizing world… I believe we need to be slowing down more. I myself need tangible reminders to slow down. So, when we were given this idea for the prompt, I knew it had to be something for the collective to engage in self care. I feel really connected to the metaphysical world and earth magic so it made sense to do this kind of spell jar. I hope you enjoy it!
