Take 3 minutes to write yourself a self-reflection. Write about your day, your week, feelings, mistakes, regrets, or just about anything on a single sheet of paper. Reflect on your actions and past mistakes, a method that will help you make better decisions in the future.
Instructions:
Grab a piece of paper or your journal and a pencil.
Put a timer for 3 minutes on your phone or your watch. As soon as you pick up your pencil, begin your 3-minute timer. Write all of your thoughts. Release them all! Don’t stop. If you can’t think of something to write, draw. Drawing can help think of new ideas.
Once you are done writing, sit in a quiet place and re-read your thoughts.
Next, grab another sheet of paper and draw what you want to improve next week. For example, draw that you want to read for 2 hours next week or draw that you want to make up 10 assignments for your math class.
Make sure to save your drawings because at the end of the week, you will circle your weekly accomplishments. For example, on your drawing, circle that you completed the 10 assignments for your math class.
A Quick Bio = Hello everyone, my name is Brenda Gonzalez-Amaro and I am a third year student at Portland State University.
I was sitting next to my desk trying to figure out an assignment for class. I was so frustrated because I was not able to come up with any good ideas. I got up from my desk and went straight to my bed with a paper and pencil in my hand. I was so annoyed that suddenly, I started to write about my feelings in a single sheet of paper. It felt good releasing my emotions and thoughts. After reflecting, I realized that I should have asked my professor for more guidance on the assignment. Sometimes, I do not make the best decisions in life and this prompt has helped me by slowly improving myself.
