In April 2025, our director visited the Archives at the National Centre of Biological Sciences, Bengaluru.
The visit hosted by by Venkat Srinivasan allowed the opportunity to exchange learnings and discuss about preservation practices, safety measures and and access process for researchers.
While visiting Delhi in August 2023, our director took the opportunity to visit the Audio Visual Archives of Ethnomusicology established by the American Institute of Indian Studies (AIIS).
The tour of the archives and discussions with Dr. Shubha Chaudhuri gave deeper insights into preservation of audio visual material and various technologies available for it.

The team at Pattani Archives was given a detailed tour of the Archival processes by Shreyasi Parikh which helped get an insight of cataloging and digitisation of photographic collections.

Avni Pattani and Dr. Tana Trivedi visited the Archives at Gandhi Ashram which helped get insights with cataloging and physical storage of materials.
Discussions with Senior Archivist Kinnariben Bhatt were helpful in understanding process of the Archives , researcher engagement as well as modalities of setting up an Archive.
Avni Pattani's meeting with Dr. Tridip Suhrud threw light on the investments and resources necessary for preserving a family archival collection.
On his recommendation, Avni Pattani visited the LD Indology lab and a detailed tour made clear the expertise and resources needed for digitizing, cataloging, and preservation of a heritage collection.
Dr. Adhya Saxena showed Avni Pattani and her aunt Kalpana Bhatt (great-granddaughter of Sir Pattani) through the processes of digitization and preservation of manuscripts from the Haribhakti Collection and shared insights of the digitization set up at their department.
An insightful evening spent at MSU followed by meeting with Mr. Gopal Haribhakti(the descendant of Haribhaktis who served as Bankers to the Peshwa & Gaekwad rulers) and his wife Swati Haribhakti; learning the know-how of setting up the family archives.
