Campus Parking, Student Pick-up & Drop-off Rules
Good afternoon! Please read over the reminder below about student drop off, pick up and parking at CTHS. These traffic guidelines and expectations are in place to ensure student safety during some of the busiest times on campus and to make the experience as smooth as possible for everyone involved. Thank you to all of our student drivers and guardians who are already following the traffic flow guidelines that were sent out earlier in the year to help get everyone in and out safely and as quickly as possible.
A few reminders -
Guardians should not be pulling into the parking lot off of Genoa Red Bluff where the bus turn around is located. This area is for staff parking and for unloading and loading buses.
Students should not be picked up or dropped off on the Beltway feeder. This is incredibly dangerous for both the student and other cars on the Beltway feeder. When these instances are reported to the campus, we are instructing them to contact law enforcement.
Guardians should not park on Genoa Red Bluff and have students meet them out there. This is dangerous and slows down the line moving into the campus.
At dismissal, if you are waiting for your student, please pull all the way forward as to not block the cars behind you from being seen by students who are ready to be picked up.
Student drivers must park in the front parking lot.
Review this document to familiarize yourself with the flow of traffic in the afternoon and pay attention to the times when it is a right turn only onto Genoa Red Bluff when exiting the campus.
Thank you for your continued support and please let us know if you have any questions.

Knights Quest Card Criteria
CTHS Knights!!!
All of the assistant principals spoke about the Knight's Quest Cards at the grade level assembly. I wanted to remind everyone about the Knight's Quest Cards so that you can earn a card each six weeks. We will have a celebration each six weeks and at the end of the semester have a Knights Festival for those that earned a card ALL 3 six weeks. The Knights Festival will be during 7th period with snacks and games. We will be having our first Knights Festival this Friday during 7th period for the students that qualified last spring semester.
Keys to success:
Turn in notes when you are absent within 2 days.
Get to class on time.
Maintain your grades and check your status in Skyward.
Follow all school rules.
Turn in official community service hours to the counseling office. You do not have to log hours this school year to qualify for the Black Tier. You must have hours on file for any of the years that you have been attending CTHS.
House Bill 1481
As we prepare for a successful 2025-2026 school year, we want to make you aware of a new state law, House Bill 1481, which was recently passed by the Texas Legislature prohibiting students from using their personal telecommunication devices (PCDs) during the school day. The “school day” is defined as when a student enters the school building and ends when the dismissal bell rings. The ban includes but is not limited to classrooms, locker rooms, cafeterias, hallways, passing periods, and restrooms.
We understand safety concerns and will continue to allow students to bring personal communication devices to school. However, they must be turned off or in silent mode and out of sight during the school day.
Steps students will need to take:
Students must keep any personal communication devices stored in approved locations, including but not limited to purses, backpacks, pockets, lockers and provided storage.
Personal communication devices must remain turned off or silent mode and out of sight, during the entire school day, from when students enter the building until the dismissal bell.
In addition to cell phones, other personal communication devices include any other device capable of digital or telecommunication, such as but not limited to:
Smart watches
Bluetooth earbuds and headphones
Tablets
Gaming Devices
Personal laptops
Disciplinary Consequences: In addition, the law requires disciplinary measures for students who violate the policy. If a student uses a personal communication device in violation of this policy, an authorized District employee shall confiscate a student’s personal communication device and deliver it to the principal’s office. The principal will determine whether to return the item to the student at the end of the day or contact the parents to pick up the device.
Any student in violation of this policy is also subject to the following, but not limited to:
Parent Notification
Progressive discipline action such as Detention or ISC may be assigned
Please note, the district is not responsible for any damaged, lost or stolen personal communication devices.
How Parents Can Support their Child:
To help your child stay focused and make the most of their learning time, we kindly ask that you avoid calling or texting their personal communication device during the school day. If you need to reach them, our front office is always ready to assist.
Speak to your child about this policy. Early conversations will help students better understand the purpose behind the law and adjust to the new expectations when the school year begins.
Promote the importance of students reducing distractions and focusing on instruction.
Pasadena ISD remains committed to fostering a safe and focused learning environment for all students. We appreciate your support as we work together to successfully implement this change, mandated by the State of Texas.
Thank you for partnering with us to support student success. We look forward to an exciting and productive school year!
Thank you,
Dr. Toni Lopez, Superintendent
