In our Science Curriculum, we strive to foster children's curiosity about the world and how it fits together with the building blocks of biology, physics and chemistry. We believe children should feel they can explore and enquire about the scientific world, and confidently express what they find. We provide children with the opportunities to be able to develop a growing understanding of how the world works and how Science continues to change our lives.
At Parkfield, we focus on the development of scientific knowledge and skills.
Our intent is to:
develop curiosity and the desire to question
make observations using our senses and take measurements manipulating equipment
carry out experiments to answer questions and make comparisons
record and present evidence (photographs, charts, drawings, labelled diagrams)
answer questions and reach conclusions
use evaluations to make further enquiries and predictions
communicate findings using scientific technical vocabulary
