History
at Parkfield Primary
at Parkfield Primary
In our History curriculum we seek to foster a passion for learning about the past. We build a knowledge of local and world history to reflect our diverse community. Through learning History, we also understand how our local and wider community has been shaped.
The children at Parkfield are taught to:
Develop their own opinion and justifications based on evidence.
Foster curiosity about people and events by asking enquiry led questions.
Build a deeper understanding of the present by questioning the past.
Explore different sources and make deductions and predictions about how these events might change our environment today.
Evaluate and question the validity of historical sources of information. Who wrote the history and what were their perspectives?
