Monster Phonics
Monster Phonics
Monster Phonics is a highly-engaging structured, synthetic phonics programme. It facilitates learning by allowing children to learn to read and spell with phonics; using monsters and colour coding to group graphemes. This provides an easy and fun memory cue for the children.
At Parkfield, Monster Phonics is taught in Reception and KS1. Children are provided with daily phonics lessons of 20-30 minutes and daily guided reading sessions which follows the Monster Phonics decodable book scheme. KS2 pupils who require support or consolidation with phonics will work through this scheme in intervention sessions.
