Sam Johns

Sam is a BSc Chemistry graduate with 1st Class Honours and a Dean’s Commendation. Prior to starting his PhD at Bristol, Sam completed two organic geochemistry projects as part of research studentships. The first investigated C₈₀ tetra-acid compounds within complex matrices through the development of solid-phase extraction techniques. His second project applied novel chromatographic techniques to isolate sterols and hopanoids from marine sponges to better understand sponge-symbiont relationships.
