Week beginning - Monday 17th November 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!Â
This week Year 3 have shown off their creative sides by making fossils out of salt dough, which we are going to use in our Science lessons. Our natural disasters theme continued as we explored poetry and started looking at volcanoes. Pupils began by creating word banks of onomatopoeic words which they would hear before, during and after their chosen natural disasters. Crash! Bang! We then looked back at expanded noun phrases to make notes on where, when and how their devastating natural disaster happened. Pupils then used their notes to create their own poems. Boom! Thud!

Oscar has been both a principled and resilient learner this week in all his lessons, trying his hand at new skills with multiplication in maths, while learning how earthquakes and volcanoes work in his Inquiry lessons. Oscar has been keen to share his learning with others.

Myah has really STRIVED to be a clear communicator and a risk taker with a positive attitude to all her learning. She has composed a fabulous onomatopoeia poem and even took her learning outside the classroom, creating a model volcano at home. It's great to see you enjoying our inquiry so much and shining brightly Myah!

Erin has settled into Year 3 wonderfully. Erin is always keen to learn new things while applying what she already knows to her new learning, showing what a knowledgeable thinker she is. Her efforts this week shone through with a great onomatopoeia poem.
