Week beginning - Monday 17th November 2025
Take a peek at all the amazing things we've been learning this week!Β
It has been another busy week in Year One. We had lots of fun getting busy in the D&T hub, making fresh bread. We worked together to weigh, pour and mix the ingredients and got very excited as the smell of fresh bread baking filled the corridors. We also thoroughly enjoyed tasting the bread and evaluating the results. In our maths lessons this week, we have loved exploring a range of 3D shapes. We have named and identified the shapes, sorted them and built towers using the 3D shapes that can stack. It has been wonderful to see the children's creativity flourish in our Inquiry lessons this week. We have been having lots of fun adapting a scene from our core text, 'The Three Little Wolves and the Big Bad Pig.' We have creatively changed the characters, the materials used and how the Big Bad Pig proved he was, in fact, big and bad! Some festive cheer has crept into Year One this week as we have begun practising for our Christmas Performance. The children have been working hard to learn their lines and have had lots of fun singing a range of Christmas songs. Please find a list of the songs below, should you wish to practice at home with your child.Β

Such a determined thinker this week! The class loved hearing about your adapted version of 'The little wolves and the big bad bad.' During inquiry you imaginatively and thoughtfully created your new character and chose the materials for your adapted story. Such great enthusiasm in all your learning this week! Super Sienna!
