The right sleeve has the American Flag Patch at the top, then your den number patch below that. Below that is a Journey to Excellence patch, if earned. 

Pack 2011 traditionally awards the Journey to Excellence patch to each scout for the year they helped the unit earn the patch - you will usually recieve this at your first rank advancement ceremony in June.

The left sleeve has the NCAC Council Shoulder patch at the top, and underneath are the 2011 unit numerals. 

As your scouts earn their ranks, you'll sew these patches onto their left pocket. 

There is a new way to do this, which leaves some of our scouts in a little bit of a transition period, so how you see this may vary. The most important thing to remember is that nobody here is going to be the uniform police - do your best!

Scouts who have earned the (now retired) bobcat patch should continue to use the pattern pictured to the side in the top picture.

For everyone else, you put the patch you earn first at the top of the diamond, the second on the left side, third on the right, and fourth on the bottom (as shown in the second illustration).

Anyone who earned the rectangle Lion patch should sew it below the diamond as seen in the top picture. 

For those wearing the tan uniform, the Webelos and AoL patches go on and below the left pocket as shown in the third picture. 

The right pocket is for "temporary insignia" - any patch you earn that isn't sewn onto the uniform can be displayed here! Many patches come with a loop that lets them hang from the button. If they don't, a little yarn and hot glue can create a loop on a patch. 

If you earn the recruiter patch, it goes below the right pocket.
