Wow! What an amazing group of readers and writers we’ve had this year! It’s been a joy to see their love of stories grow, and we can’t wait to see the incredible adventures they’ll go on through books in the years ahead. Keep up the fantastic work in your phonics lessons; your reading and writing journey is only just beginning!
We’ve been so impressed with the marvellous mathematicians in our class this year! Their talk partner work has been focused, they’ve shown a fantastic understanding and use of key mathematical vocabulary, and their independent work has been nothing short of brilliant. What a year of number magic!
The children have all made incredible progress this year. September feels like such a long time ago, and it's important to pause and reflect on just how far our Reception children have come over the past 11 months.
They are now confidently working with partners, showing impressive turn-taking and patience during play. Their resilience is truly shining through, whether they’re building structures or creating models at the Creation Station, they persevere and collaborate beautifully as a team.
This term, we have been learning about maps and our local area. The children have shown a real curiosity about where we live, asking thoughtful questions and engaging well with the topic. They especially enjoyed using their imaginations to dream up exciting new additions to our village, from creative buildings to imaginative landmarks!
Throughout the year, we have experienced the changing seasons first-hand during our Forest School sessions. The children have explored the differences in trees and weather across the seasons and discovered the tiny creatures we share our environment with. If you ever need any snail experts, you know exactly which class to call!
