Teachers can advance on the salary scale by earning Professional Growth Units (PGUs) or Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Below you will find information on how to apply units earned through our new teacher coaching programs and those earned through other forms of professional development.
Salary Advancement Units for engagement in New Teacher Coaching Programs:
Participating Teachers in our New Teacher Support & Development Coaching Programs (Induction, Intern, and Emergency Permit) have the opportunity to earn credits toward advancement on OUSD’s salary scale through their engagement in 1:1 coaching. See more guidance BELOW.
Salary Advancement for Other Professional Development:
In general, PGU’s & CEU’s are sent to Employee Support Specialists (ESSs). If you are submitting PGU’s or CEU’s, you can find guidance about how salary movement works, and how to submit documentation to your ESS here.
