Complete the Coach Request Form for 25-26 now!
Who is eligible for new teacher coaching?
Teachers on preliminary credentials, intern credentials, and emergency permits.
For teachers on single subject, multiple subject, education specialist, or PK-3 ECE preliminary credentials, this coach request form counts as your Induction program enrollment. You must complete this form each year of the program.
For teachers on intern credentials, this form is how you request the District Support Provider (DSP) required by your credential program.
Is coaching required?
For teachers on preliminary credentials and intern credentials, coaching support is required by the CTC.
For teachers on emergency permits, coaching support is strongly encouraged but optional. If you would like to opt out of coaching support, please speak with your principal.
What is expected?
All preliminary credentialed, intern credentialed, and emergency permit teachers should complete the coach request form.
All coachees who are assigned a new teacher support coach should receive a minimum of 1 hr/week of individualized support from their coach.
Coaches are responsible for logging time in our NTSD Interaction Log.
Only preliminary credentialed teachers who are in Induction must submit an Individualized Learning Plan for program credit.
How does new teacher coaching work for teachers who also have a coach from another Central Office Team (i.e.Special Education, Early Childhood Education, Linked Learning)?
Teachers with preliminary credentials that require Induction will be matched with a Induction coach by the NTSD team and expected to meet all of the Induction Program's expectations. This may be the same person as your Central coach or someone different.
Teachers with intern credentials may be matched with an additional new teacher support coach if there is a qualified coach at your school site who can provide 1 hr/week of individualized support in addition to the support provided by your Central coach. If not, you will still receive support from the Central team. In either case, we will help ensure you have a District Support Provider named for your credential program.
Teachers who are working on emergency permits may be matched with an additional new teacher support coach if there is a qualified coach at your school site who can provide 1 hr/week of individualized support in addition to the support provided by your Central coach. If not, you will still receive support from the Central team.
