All Platform Policies apply to Spaces. The guidelines apply to both Tribe Content and Tribe Policy queues.
Labeling in the tribe queues as a platform policy, will delete the content.
Note: The only exception is Self Harm. If the Space content falls under Self Harm (promotion) it will be deleted. However, if the Space content falls under Self Harm (mention) it will be restricted.
See the Platform Policies guidelines here.
Note: applies to both Tribe_Content and Tribe_Policy queues
Check the Adult checkbox if it meets at least one of the following conditions:
Meta spaces content (details, descriptions, space name, icon, cover photo) is thematically adult.
Adult content on Quora is defined as sexually explicit or pornographic content and/or nudity without any educational purpose. You can find the adult content guidelines here.
Examples include spaces about sex work, images of nude celebrities, and over 18+ pornographic content.
Space names or descriptions that encourage posting, sharing, or viewing of sexually explicit content:
Spaces with the keywords such as "hot", "sexy", "alluring", "sultry", "jaw-dropping" in space names, description, and/or details are most likely "adult".
[Only applies in Tribe_Policy queue] 2 out of 3 or more pieces of content in the "Top Content" section meets our criteria for adult content
Adult spaces that do not violate any other policies should be labeled as OK + Adult checkbox on the right hand queue decision
Example of Adult space that should be labeled "OK + Adult": https://sexyandgoodlookingfemaleofficeoutfits.quora.com/
Notes:
Spaces that promote child pornography, bestiality, and non-consensual sexual acts violate our Platform Policies (Sexual Exploitation and Abuse) .
When minors are involved, select “Sexual Exploitation (child safety)”, do not check the Adult Checkbox.
When animals or adults are involved, select “Sexual Exploitation (adults and animals)”, do not check the Adult Checkbox.
Sexual Content involving minors but which doesn't fall under “Sexual Exploitation (child safety)”, would instead likely fall under one of the following depending on context:
Targeting Underage Users (0-12)
Targeting Underage Users (13-17)
Sensitive topics involving minors
Do not check the Adult Checkbox in any of the above instances
Note: applies to both Tribe_Content and Tribe_Policy queues. Labeling as Targeting Underage Users (0-12) will delete the Space.
User is under 13; Space meant for under 13
Action on content and account
Quora requires that users on the platform be 13 years of age or older. If we encounter content where the user is self identifying themselves as under 13 or it is evident from their profile:
We will remove the content
Ban the user
Action on Space
If a Space is meant for users under 13 years of age only, we will take down the Space.
If a Space’s name, description or details indicate that it is meant for users under 13 and over 13, (eg: 11 to 18 year olds allowed or 10 to 17 year olds allowed in this Space), then we will send a warning message to the Admin and ask them to change the description to exclude users under the age of 13.
If the Admin does not make the change within 48 hours, we will take down the Space.
Note: Spaces that do not explicitly target users under 13 years of age but still have some active underage (i.e., <13 yo) users are OK. In such cases, we will only act on those individual accounts as per the guidance above.
If the space doesn’t specify an age range but could solicit contributions from users under 13, we will not take any action on the space.
Note: applies to both Tribe_Content and Tribe_Policy queues. Labeling as Targeting Underage Users (13-17) will delete the Space.
Encouraging sexual interaction between minors and non-minors
These are posts glorifying sexual interaction between minors and non-minors or encouraging non-minor users to interact sexually with minors
Examples of OK, restricted, and deleted spaces:
A space that has the space name "Dating (13-18)" should be deleted because the age range in the space name includes 18 (i.e., non-minors) and the space is about dating (which may or may not include a sexual component, but err on the side of caution). This combination should be interpreted as "encouraging non-minor users to interact sexually with minors", which is against policy
A space called "Dating (13-17)" should be restricted because it is a teen dating space that does not encourage sexual interaction between minors and non-minors
Spaces with names like "Hangout (13-18)" that imply non-sexual activities between minors and non-minors are OK because they do not encourage sexual interaction between minors and non-minors
Describing different ways to coerce minors into sexual interaction with non-minors or getting away with sexual interaction with minors
Example: “This is how you get a child to follow you back to your house”
Sexually Explicit or Pornographic Content in Teen Spaces
Sexually explicit or pornographic content is not allowed in teen spaces (i.e., spaces targeted to users of ages 13-17).
Action on content and user
Reviewers should select “Targeting Underage Users (13-17)” in tribe_content queue
Action on Space
If a space’s name, description or details section indicates that it is meant for teen users (i.e., users between 13-17) and has been created for the sole purpose of sharing sexually explicit or pornographic content, then we will remove the space.
Transaction of images (eg: snap trades)
Action on content and user
Spaces that function as a place for exchanging nude pictures involving minors, even when the transaction happens off platform, when the person-to-person connection is made on platform
Content will be removed if we notice that it is a minor (e.g., based on visual depiction appears to be image of minor, minor self-identifying as minor, reported to us from parent/user as involving a minor). If intent is unclear do not take it down. Sharing fully clothed, non-sexually explicit pics should be allowed.
User will be warned
Action on the space
If entire space is dedicated to sharing nude images of minors then take the Space down
If intent of space is more general (e.g., discuss teen dating or teen problems), we will not take any action on the Space
Note: applies to both Tribe_Content and Tribe_Policy queues. Labeling as Using Quora brand / logo will delete the Space.
The space logo or cover photo used is exactly that of Quora's or uses Quora branding in any way and space name does not contain the word "Quora"
We want users to be able to differentiate between official Quora spaces and those by non-Quora employees.
Only Quora employees have the ability to create spaces with the word "Quora" in space name.
Ergo, any spaces that use Quora logo or branding without having Quora in the space name have been created by non-employees who do not have the permission to use Quora branding or logo in any way.
Note: applies only to Tribe_Content queue. Labeling as Sexually Explicit Content will delete the Space.
Users are not allowed to post sexually explicit content (as defined within our guidelines) in non-adult Spaces. Follow these steps:
Assess whether or not the item falls under our definition of Sexually Explicit content:
If not, and no other policy applies, label as OK
If it is Sexually Explicit, go to step 2
Assess whether or not the Space is already marked as Adult or its Meta Space Content is thematically Sexually Explicit:
If the Space is already marked as Adult, leave the Adult label on the Space and label the item as OK
If the Space is not marked as Adult but should be labeled as such (only based on Meta Space Content, i.e icon, description, etc...) then mark the Space as Adult and label the item as OK
If it is neither of the 2 above scenarios, label the item as Sexually Explicit Content
Note: applies only to internal employees.
Impersonation (of an entity or an individual)
Plagiarism
When copyright infringement and reported by the original owner of the content
Note: applies to both Tribe_Content and Tribe_Policy queues. Labeling as Sensitive topics involving minors will restrict the Space.
Posts discussing sexual interaction with minors but not encouraging it
Content where the author is writing about their own desire to interact sexually with minors without glorifying it is restricted (not removed)
Content where the author is describing how to address a sexual attraction to minors or asking what types of interactions are OK without glorifying them are also restricted (not removed)
Note: Label only applies to Tribe_Policy queue. Labeling as Teen Space will restrict the Space.
Teen spaces that discuss sex, sexual fetishes and puberty
Action on content and user
We won’t take any action on the user
We won’t take any action on content
Action on the Space

Examples of teen spaces that we will allow: https://teentalk.quora.com/
Teen spaces that create a dating marketplace
Action on content and user
We won’t take any action on users or content
Action on the Space
We will restrict the space if it acts as a dating marketplace
Examples of teen dating spaces that we will restrict:
We will allow spaces that discuss teen dating without creating a dating marketplace
Example of teen spaces that we will allow: https://myteenchats2.quora.com/
Note that requests to connect off-platform without any mentions of trades (trading images, contact information, personal information) are also considered OK
Example: “Let's connect on Instagram” is OK
Note: only applies to Tribe_Policy queues
Select “Prohibited images - Icon” and/or “Prohibited images - Cover photo” if either or both are Sexually Explicit or violate the “Gratuitously violent images/video” section of our Image Policy.
If either or both the icon or cover photo are Sexually Explicit, also label select the Adult Checkbox.
Notes:
Even if the icon or cover photo is not sexually explicit, still assess for other reasons to select the Adult Checkbox (e.g. Meta Space Content is adult)
Do not select the Adult Checkbox if the violation only involves the “Gratuitously violent images/video” section of our Image Policy.
Do not select “Prohibited images - Icon” and/or “Prohibited images - Cover photo” for anything other than Sexually Explicit content or Gratuitously Violent images (e.g. do not select “Prohibited images - Icon” if the icon shows drugs)
This includes Non-Consensual Content: only select Non-Consensual Content if you encounter it.
