Read the story of Rocky Rails to see how he got through his day with small problems and one big problem! Talk at home about some small problems that might happen (siblings want to watch the same TV show) and then talk about some big problems that might happen (fire, someone is hurt, etc).
Identifying what is a BIG problem and what is a small problem is the first step in teaching children how to solve their own small problems.
Next month we will be using a curriculum called "Kelso's Choices" to teach the students HOW to solve those small problems.
Our PBIS Word of the Month is RESPECT!
Watch the video about how to be respectful!
Respect activity: Use two baskets or containers, go around the house to find objects or toys that have been treated with respect and some that have not. For those that have not been treated with respect, ask your child what they could do to help that object get to the "respect basket."
