Happy Spring Bulldog Families!!
This month in guidance, we are talking about the very important topic of "Body Rights." Please Click Here to see the attached letter that was included in the ECC's weekly newsletter. If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know. Thank you!
We are also talking about our word of the month...Flexible!! This is such an important concept to teach as the students will soon be finishing up their amazing year in kindergarten and heading to Falls Lenox in the Fall. With end of the year activities, fire drills, field trips, tornado drills, and plans and activities changing frequently, we remind students that we can go with the flow, we can be problem solvers, we can change our way of thinking and we don't have to worry about the small problems!
This is a great book to introduce "Body Rights" to your child.
Encourage your child to ask questions. Talk about safe touch, unsafe touch, safe secrets (surprises), and unsafe secrets. Try to have an open dialogue and really listen to your child. Ask your child to write or draw pictures of who is in their safety circle.
A song about "Rules of my body" to further enhance the topic of "Body Rights."
