We enjoyed our full days of Kindergarten this week! Kudos to your little ones for doing such a great job!
We continued to learn and practice our classroom routines. We also learned how to "check-in" on our Mood Meter and talk about our feelings.
We learned how to be "Bucket Fillers" in our classroom. A bucket filler is someone who says or does nice things for other people. When we fill someone's bucket, it makes them feel good and it makes us feel good, too!
We celebrated a special birthday. Happy Birthday, Olivia!
We had a new friend join our class. Welcome to our kindergarten crew, Armani!
We met "Mama Echo" and "Baby Echo" and learned our special Fundations song. Ask your child to tell you about how we "wake up" Echo each day! This week, we learned how to use our writing grid that we will use to practice proper letter formation. In the first unit, we will learn how to identify lowercase letters and sounds.
This week we learned:
t, b, f
In Kindergarten, we will learn to identify and write high frequency words (sight words). We will also practicing using high frequency words in full sentences. For example, "I am ____ years old."
This week we learned:
I, am
In math, we started learning how to subitize. We can see a set and know how many. Try it out with the video below! We also began learning how to count and write numbers 0-3. Great work, Little Mathematicians!
Students will be practicing writing their names on their classwork each day. Please encourage your child to use all lowercase letters for their name except the first letter. Happy Writing!
Thursday, September 18th is Back To School Night. More information to follow!
Monday, September 22nd is International Peace Day. Wear peace gear!
There is no school on Tuesday, September 23rd and Wednesday, September 24th.
Please empty your child's folder each day after school!
Please make sure your child's lunch and snack are in 2 separate bags and that they are labeled "SNACK" and "LUNCH". This will make our unpacking routine go much smoother as we keep snack and lunch in two separate bins.
We are a NUT free school. Please send the label of ingredients for foods that are not in packaging.
Please remember that the children must wear closed-toe shoes to participate in recess and gym.
Please continue to bring your ID with you at dismissal. It is a School #6 policy to always have your ID with you at dismissal. In the event that there is a substitute teacher, you will be required to show identification.
