Decoding and Spelling

Learning to read effectively is a primary aim within the Oaklands Centre curriculum and we believe that all pupils, regardless of their prior attainment or learning difficulties, are able to learn to read.

Decoding is taught to all pupils using Little Wandle Letters and Sounds.
