Assignment 3
Assignment 3
DMX Composition
Since our lights cannot move on their own, we decided to create variation by using the shadows they cast from different angles. We used two types of boards. Some of them are completely black and opaque, so when light hits them, they create a long, solid shadow. The others are a blue transparent boards with various shapes. When light passes through it, the shadows change color and take on diverse forms. We also drilled many small holes into the panels. These holes are invisible when the light shines from the front. However, when a third light shines from behind, the light passes through the holes and, refracted by the fog, forms beams of light. In this way, the entire work gains a sense of transformation and dynamic movement.
